All visitors must check in at the Recreation Center front desk. All visitors must complete a liability form upon their first visit. 
Effective January 11, 2021 all credit credit card transactions will be subject to 2.75% fee.

Combo: Gymnastics & Dance

Want the best of both gymnastics and dance? 
We are excited to have a Tall Timbers trained coach teach our combo class. 
Class will consist of 30 minutes of basic gymnastics instruction and 30 minutes of basics of dance. 
All classes are held at the Rec Center at 516 Montrose.

  • When will classes begin?: Registration is held on a monthly basis. Classes will begin the first week of May
  • What should my child wear?: We ask that participants wear all black athletic clothing or leotards.
  • What will I need to provide for my child: You will need to provide your child with the appropriate shoes if deemed necessary. Ballet or jazz shoes are preferred but are not required.
  • What do I do while my child is in class?: We ask that all guardians remove themselves from the room while class is in session. We do have cameras set up for you to view the class in our lobby if you would like to stay and watch.
  • Will there be a recital or showcase?: Parks and Recreation will hold a spring show off and winter recital to showcase the skills your students are learning while in class.
  • When is my payment due for next month?: Registration is the last week of the month for the following month. You must be paid in full before you can begin classes.

Chess Class
Chess 101 - Copy - Copy
Chess is a Passion of Instructors Rita and Steve Frenzel. The class is for beginner through tournament-level students while providing a fun and exciting atmosphere. Our year-round curriculum includes lessons for brand new beginners as well as more advanced players. All students are taught on their level. The class is structured with a combination of lessons and practice time. 

The game of Chess is designed to be both entertaining and educational. Students learn to focus, evaluate options, and determine the best sequence for moves. Plus, several colleges and universities offer scholarships for chess players.

Urban Step


Welcome to Urban Step!

The Urban Step is an instructor-led step class sure to get you moving to your favorite hip-hop, R&B, and top-chart songs. The course is tailored to the beginner, but an expert stepper can join and maximize their workout just the same. 

What to expect: The class is a group fitness class, meaning you will enjoy the course with other participants. The instructor will lead you through a series of combinations that you will repeat and use in different routines. The more you attend, the more you can add your flare! 

Students must be 16 or older to attend. Steps are not mandatory but are highly encouraged. If you have any modifications, the instructor needs to know. Please arrive 10 minutes before class to discuss them with the instructor. All Equipment is provided. 

What you will need: We encourage everyone to bring a sweat towel, a bottle of water, a great attitude, and a smile!

The class aims to provide an interactive experience while accomplishing your fitness goals. The SPIN class is geared towards both beginners and experts. Start riding or jump back on the bike to scorch your desired calories. A live instructor will lead you through a series of songs tailored to keep you engaged and motivated while you target peak cardio results. Tighten or loosen the spin wheel to achieve the optimal resistance for your desired workout.
